5 months.

Five months.

FIVE MONTHS.


FIVE MONTHS!!!


That is like an eternity!  I never thought I would make it this far... 6 months here I come!

My wonderful next door neighbor turned 30 on Friday, and since she is the worlds biggest Madonna fan we had a big Madonna-themed party.

Thursday was the Kelly Clarkson concert!  It was amazing.  We waited in line for about five hours in POURING rain, but it was so worth it.  We ended up with AMAZING seats right up against the gate blocking the $250 VIP seats.  My $25 view was just as good as theirs lol  :)

It was FREEZING.  D built us an igloo out of 2 umbrellas and a tarp- this is us hiding out in the (semi)warmth

Damieen went hiking with the dogs yesterday and brought me home the biggest dandelion EVER!  This thing is fucking amazing!!  He is pretty lucky too when you think of it, how many guys can bring home a weed and delight their girlfriend??  lol

We went to Capitol Reef National Park for Memorial Day and found this bad ass rock formation with a huge hole in it

I'm not sure what to say really besides that I am so happy, and so in love and so in disbelief that my life is going SO WELL.  Damieen has been trying to help me believe that I deserve good things in life, and I'll tell you what- he is definitely a good thing.  I have never been so happy.

Kelly Clarkson is coming to Salt Lake on June 11th.

On June 4th a local night club is hosting a Kelly Clarkson karaoke contest with VIP backstage passes and limo service for the winner.

HOW EXCITED AM I?!!!

I can sing the SHIT out of Kelly songs!

I am sitting in the waiting room inside the salt lake temple. this brings back really weird memories. they would throw me out on my ass if they knew i was a lesbian ex-mo...

One of my residents has a son who is special needs.  He and his mother were sitting in the dining room and I waved as I walked by.

He waved back and YELLED:  "Hey mom!  It's the girl with the boobs!"



Also- one of my coworkers wrote me a haiku today:

all about the clam

Fantastically awesome if I do say so myself...  LOL

OH MY GOD I FOUND A LEAK OF THE NEW KELLY CD!!

It comes out on Tuesday and I have already preordered it, but I found a website that has every song and all the lyrics.  I am way too excited.  My obsession with her cannot be healthy lol.   So far I am not disappointed at ALL.  I am freaking in love with it.


Anywho...

Life is good.  Had an interesting possible breakthrough in therapy yesterday, I am going to process it a little more before I post about it here, but I think it is going to be a really good thing...

My hair is fucking fire engine red and I love it.  I feel sexy as hell.

I got another job.  I am broke.  I have crazy bills piling up.  I feel like I am drowning in debt, so I talked to a home health agency and I am going to do in home care, hopefully graveyards.  It should only have to be a short term thing- just until I get my head above water.

So yeah...  Things are going well.
 
I love you all.

It is 11 years today since my grandma died with alzheimer's disease.

That was a big turning point in my life, I look at it as the end of my childhood. 

I loved that woman more than anyone in the world, I still do...

Here is an essay I wrote for a Glamour Magazine writing competition 2 years ago.  It talks about her death from starvation and how it triggered my eating disorder, and then how my recovery led me to work with elderly people like her.

It fairly long but I will post it in case any of you are really bored  :)

I went to a great political meeting last night.  It was through Equality Utah and it was basically a  "what do we do now" discussion since all 5 of the Common Ground Initiative bills failed.

It was my first time attending something like that and it was incredible.

I am fairly new to the political scene, and I have never been concerned about any piece of legislation the way I have been with these Common Ground bills.  It was fascinating for me to listen to these people who are so passionate, so involved and so committed. 

It was truly inspiring.

This is something that I believe in 110%- this is something that I am passionate about- I am excited to join the movement and get even more involved.

Utah might be the reddest of the red states but there is a wonderful little liberal mecca in the heart of Salt Lake City.  I think that maybe it is because we are so outnumbered and so oppressed, but there is an incredible unity in the LGBT community, and it was radiating from the meeting last night- It was a great feeling.  I didn't know one person in the room, yet I felt like I was surrounded by family.
